The clips seem good, it might be getting pinched when the doors shut so when it opens the panel trys to stay while the door moves. However that tight fit dosent  stop it from leaking dust

Wow have never had problems with the trim in any of my 3 MINIs. Although the Getrag (German?) in my Clubman started getting worryingly noisy before any of that could happen.

I had a special tool for work whose case fit exactly in that cubby, I really missed that when I traded it.
